Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said a number of poor and working class people in St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be adversely affected by the recent fire at the state-owned Public Works facility in Arnos Vale.
Building materials, amounting to an estimated 1.3 million EC dollars is said to have been destroyed in the fire on Thursday, January 7th 2016.
Speaking at a recent news conference, Dr. Gonsalves explained that fire will negatively affect a number of families who were awaiting assistance under the Lives to Live programme.
Dr. Gonsalves also noted that the fire took place at a time when there as already a need for additional material to advance the work of the government.
