The Absence of Fathers in the lives of their children especially their sons, has been identified as one of the major challenges facing St. Vincent and the Grenadines and other Caribbean nations.

The view was expressed by Global Missionary Pastor, Courtney Richards of Jamaica, who was recently in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to facilitate a Men’s Ministry program, hosted by the Project Men 2020 Team.

Reverend Richards said fatherlessness continues to be a major issue in every society including St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

He noted that studies have shown that a lot of the ill behavior being perpetrated by the younger generation is directly related to the lack of father figures in homes.
Reverend Richards said when males do not have father figures in their lives they turn to gangs and other entities for male leadership.
