An 80-year-old resident of Fairhall was shot to death early this morning during an apparent attempted burglary.
Police say an unknown assailant broke into the home of Ishmael Browne and shot him in his chest and abdomen.
The incident occurred at his home at Fairhall at 4:55 this morning.
Mr. Browne is reported to have died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
Police say a total of seven homicides have been committed so far for the year.
A post mortem examination is expected to be performed on the body, and Police are continuing investigations into the incident
