Director of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC), Apollo Knights says the first phase of the work is completed, to implement number portability across Caribbean States.

Number Portability enables Mobile and Fixed Line telephone users to keep their telephone numbers when changing from one Service Provider to another.

Mr. Knights says at a recent regional meeting which was held in St. Lucia, a number of important decisions were made on the way forward, including the decision to establish a central clearing house to manage the process of quoting numbers.

Mr. Knights states that the first phase of the work is already completed, however a lot of technical background work still has to be done by the working group.
