Homicides Increased By 36% So Far This Year

_Homicide

Five people were reported killed in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) in the past four weeks, including two separate fatal stabbings according to Police.

Gunshot homicides were reported in Diamond Village, Pauls Avenue and Upper New Montrose.

In the first five months of 2016, 15 people have been reported killed, according to police data. That outpaces last year, when 11 homicides were reported through May 30.

January 11 St. Elmore Jackson, 37, caused by a gunshot

February 8 Julani Alexander, 26, caused by gunshot in Upper New Montrose

February 28 Jomo Williams, 32, caused by gunshot in Campden Park Mountain

February 28 Kevin Warren, 36, caused by gunshot in Campden Park Mountain

March 1 Martin Griff, 49, caused by gunshot in Walliabou

March 17 Silbert Joseph, late 30s, caused by gunshot in Carriere

March 31 Ishmael Browne, 80, caused by gunshot in Fair Hall




April 23 Lesroy Sam, 20, caused by gunshot in Ottley Hall

April 26 Carlos Richardson, 36, caused by gunshot in Ottley Hall, charged Ivan Raguette

April 29 Mikel Seaton, 32, caused by gunshot in Murray Village

May 2 Constable 602 Giovanni Charles, 27, caused by stabbing in Belmont, charged Maverick Joseph

May 18 Sheldon Pollin, 47, caused by gunshot in Diamond Village

May 21 Wilmore Goodgie, caused by gunshot in Pauls Avenue

May 24 Wendel Ollivierre, 21, caused by gunshot in Upper New Montrose

May 30 Kelson Laynes, 60, caused by stabbing in Georgetown
