26 Juniors Battle For 2016 Monarch Titles Today

Today 26 young Calypso and Soca Artistes will vie for the crowns of Junior Calypso and Soca Monarch 2016, including returning champ, Kristiana Christopher, who won Junior Calypso – Primary School title and Ishanna ‘Qyeen Shana’ Phillips who won Junior Calypso – Secondary School title. The competitions will be held at the Victoria Park.

Among those seeking to take the crown for the first time are: Ziel Caine, Daleann Nero, Kevisha Andrews, Fidel Cyrus, Sheneka York, Nathan Joseph and Kristian Christopher performing in the Primary Schools Junior Calypso category.

In the Secondary School Calypso category the finalists are: Brianca Mathias, Romano Moore, Delano King, Cha-Chanie Morgan, Tia Wyllie, , Trevicia Lavia, Bevorne Baptiste and.

In the Junior Soca Monarch segment of the show, nine students from both primary and secondary will compete for top honours.

They are: Nathan Joseph, Larissa Collis, Deantai Davis, Kristiana Christopher, Omrie Day, Sakura Lorraine, Delanzo Lavia, Delisha Brackin and Stiyon Ince.

NBC Radio will bring live coverage of this afternoon’s show from two-thirty.
