The Friends of Argyle International Airport USA handed over a cheque for US$10,000 to Communications Officer of International Airport Development Company (IADC), Jennifer Richardson at a handing over ceremony in New York last Friday.
Deputy Chairman of the Friends of the Argyle International Airport USA, Alpheus Phillips, told the gathering that the contribution to the project is necessary for the development of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and it will be the last one.
He said he was glad they were able to contribute and are now looking forward to the operational phase of the airport.
In accepting the cheque on behalf of the IADC, Jennifer Richardson said that while the funds are appreciated and very much welcomed, of greater significance was the support received from the group over the years.
