St. Clair Leacock, Parliamentary Representative for Central Kingstown has congratulated Dr. Godwin Friday on his elevation to Opposition Leader and President of the new Democratic Party, describing it as a much deserved elevation.
Mr. Leacock also used the opportunity to highlight his contribution to the Party and to the Country over the years. But he said despite his valuable service he is humiliated by what has been meted out to him by those whom he has given 35 years to and that is why he made the expression that “He believes that the New Democratic Party has left him”.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said he was touched by Mr. Leacock’s presentation, which he said was very unusual.
Dr. Godwin Friday, Opposition Leader has expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support to him and he stated that he is also in pain by the anguish that he feels.
