
Humble Lions retained the League Title of the National Lotteries Authority/FLOW/Hairoun/COMPUTEC/Kirk DaSilva/RUFF-I Sound System Marriaqua Football Championships with a 5-2 victory over Marriaqua Future Stars at the Cane End Playing Field on Sunday.
Earlier on Sunday, Cane End Gunners defeated Pride and Joy 5-4 on penalty kicks following a one all draw at the end of regulation time to clinch the third place.
Omar Thomas of Cane End Gunners with 15 goals was the top striker. The Best Midfielder; Brad Richards of Humble Lions (1), Best Defender; Kenton Peters of Marriaqua Future Stars, and the Best Goal-keeper; Jovan Lynch of Humble Lions (1).
Pride and Joy won the Under-20 Division, second was Humble Lions, and Mariaqua Future Stars third.
The Under-15 Division was won by SV United, second was Greggs FC, and Pride and Joy third.
26 Teams took part in this year’s Championships; 16 in the Senior Division, five in the Under-20 Division, and five also in the Under-15 Division.
Meanwhile, SV United of Georgetown beat Park Hill FC 4-2 yesterday afternoon in the Hairoun Diamonds Football Championships at the Diamonds Playing Field.
Kemron Osment netted a hat-trick and Chavel Barker scored one for SV United of Georgetown.
Cameron Strough scored both goals for Park Hill FC.
At 4:30 this afternoon, Bruce Law Chambers Sparta FC (A) will meet DESCO Youths also at the Diamonds Playing Field.
