The SVG Good hearts Foundation, a Charitable foundation that was launched a little over a year ago – hosted an appeal at Heritage Square on Saturday, with the objective of assisting Vincentians that are living in the Northern Leeward Islands, that were badly affected by Hurricane Irma.

The Hurricane Irma-Day Relief Affair, which featured musical entertainment by a number of local artistes, as well as remarks by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves; saw an overwhelming response by a number of Vincentians

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said during an interview that so far the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has not received any request by the British Virgin Islands (BVI) for Vincentian Nationals to evacuate, but that this country’s government will do everything possible to assist the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and the BVI.

The Prime Minister said that at the end of the month, he is hoping to attend a donor’s conference, upon the request of Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne.

Rodney Small, one of the Founding members of the foundation, said although Saturday’s event was not a well-planned out event, it was well received by the public.
