Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Saboto Ceasar, said efforts are being made to better organize fish vendors in Kingstown, with a view to attaining greater benefits from the fishing sector.
He made the point during last week’s launch of activities to mark the 43rd anniversary of Fisherman’s Day celebrations, under the theme; “From Our Ridges into the High Seas, Our Nation We Feed”.
Minister Caesar said the organization of vendors at the main fisheries center is one of several initiatives aimed at improving the local fishing industry.
He said that the delay in the issuance of ID cards for fisherfolk was based on the advice of the relevant authorities.
