Scores of Vincentian women diagnosed with endometriosis can now receive assistance to travel for much needed medical treatment, thanks to Jumplife Entertainment, the group that recently held an event called ‘FAM for Endometriosis’.

The event, which was held at Sunset Shore Beach Hotel and supported by CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank, also helped to raise awareness in addition to financially assisting those who need surgery overseas for endometriosis, which it is not offered in St Vincent.

Endometriosis is a common condition where the lining of the womb grows outside the womb. It is usually diagnosed in women between the ages of 20 to 40 years.

There are various stages of the disease from mild to severe. Women usually have painful periods, chronic pelvic pain, chronic fatigue, depression and infertility. This affects a woman’s quality of life and can have severe impact.

Neeka Anderson-Isaacs of Jumplife Entertainment expressed gratitude to CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank, on behalf of the women suffering from endometriosis.

She said Jumplife Entertainment is grateful for the kind consideration and support from the Bank, noting that the support assisted in allowing the group to help the women of St Vincent and the Grenadines, who need the medical intervention to travel to Barbados for surgery.

Country Head of CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank Shelly Ann Samuel, said, wellness is one of the bank’s priorities adding that “endometriosis affects many women and generally has a debilitating effect on their quality of life and relationships.
