Members of the Anglican Community are attending a Midday Service today at the Central Market in Kingstown, to observe Ash Wednesday, the start of the Lenten season.
The Lenten season will last an entire 46 days leading up to Easter Sunday. It is a period of reflection, prayer and penance.
Lent is also a time when some Christians give up eating meat
Some churches mark the foreheads of worshippers with an ash cross on Ash Wednesday.
