An official Funeral will be held here today for former Member of Parliament Henry Afflick Haynes, who passed away on Sunday February 17th.
A release from the Prime Minister’s Office said Mr. Haynes was a former Minister of Trade and Production, and former Member of Parliament for the constituencies of St. George, West St. George and West Kingstown.
The release said, at the request of the family, there will be no official viewing of the body at the House of Assembly.
The Funeral Service will take place at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church at Calliaqua.
Viewing of the body will be from 12:00pm to 1:30pm. This will be immediately followed by the Funeral Service. Interment will be at the Belair Cemetery.
As a mark of respect, all flags throughout the state are being flown at half-mast today.
The Government has extended sincere condolences to the family of the late Henry Afflick Haynes, during this period of bereavement.
