The Rural Transformation Unit in the Ministry of Agriculture, will host an Awards ceremony today, to recognize schools which participated in the 2018 National Schools Gardening Competition.
The competition was held to: encourage the application of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) to Agriculture; to create an interest in agriculture among students; and to present a tool that could be used to enhance teaching and learning
The Awards ceremony would be held at the Fisheries Conference Room from 9:00 this morning.
The feature address would be delivered by Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar, and officials from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Agriculture would be in attendance.
This initiative is jointly funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
