Jamaica Tallawahs beat St Lucia Kings

Jamaica Tallawahs beat St Lucia Kings by 55 runs in last night’s match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at Warner Park, St Kitts and Nevis.

Jamaica Tallawahs who batted first after winning the toss made 211 of their 20 overs thanks to opener and wicket-keeper, Kenmar Lewis’ 56 off 24 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes; Shamarh Brook’s 34 off 29 balls with 2 fours; Andre Russell’s 31 off 15 balls with 4 sixes; Imad Wasim’s 27 off 10 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes; and 22 from captain, Rovman Powell. The most successful bowlers for St Lucia Kings, were left-arm, leg-spinner, Javier Royal (3-37), and medium pacer, Kadeem Alleyne (3-53).

St Lucia Kings were dismissed for 156 off 18.1 overs in their reply. Mark Deyal made 33, opener, Andre Fletcher scored 30, and so did Roston Chase. The best bowlers for Jamaica Tallawahs were left-arm, leg-spinner, Imad Wasim (3-34), medium pacer, Andre Russell (2-34) and medium pacer, Carlos Brathwaite (2-13).

Today is a rest day in the Championship.
