Five matches will be played this afternoon when the 2021 French Verandah/National Lotteries Authority St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College Invitational Six-a-Side Football Championship opens at the College Grounds at Villa.

At 12.30 p. m, the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies Year 2 will play against All Saints Medical (2). At 1.30 p. m the Division of Technical and Vocational Education Year 2 will meet All Saints Medical (1). At 2.30 p. m, Just Graduated Combined will oppose System 3 (2). At 3.30 p. m, Teachers Combined will meet System 3 (1), and at 4.30 p. m, Jebelle Youth will play against Volcanoes FC (1).

System 3 Youth, Central Leeward Secondary, and Volcanoes Youth are the newcomers in the 14-team Championship in which the teams are placed in two groups of 7 teams each for the preliminary competition. The four top teams in each Group will qualify for the Knock-out Stage.

The Championship will be played under strict COVID-19 protocols. And to improve the protocols, RW Sporting World donated 49 individual COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test kits for daily random tests during the Championship.

Last week, free of cost, Kelectric Company used one of its heavy rollers to compress and improve the playing area of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College Playing Field.
