Australia dismissed England for 68 runs in their 2nd innings yesterday, the third day of the 5-day match, to win the 3rd Ashes Test by an innings and 14 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Australia, and take a 3-0 winning lead in the 5-match Ashes Series.

From their 61-1 in their 1st innings on last Saturday’s first day, Australia went on to total 267 on Sunday in reply to England’s 1st innings score of 185. England’s batting feared worst in their 2nd innings. From 31-4 at the close of play on Sunday, England lost their last six batsmen for 37 runs to be all out for 68 off 27.4 overs. Captain, Joe Root top-scored with 28. All-rounder, Ben Stokes (11) was the only other England batsman to reach double figures.

Medium pacer, Scott Boland finished with the remarkable figures of 6 wickets for 7 runs off 4 overs, 1 of which was a maiden. Fast bowler, Mitchell Starc took 3-29. 40,945 people were in attendance yesterday.

The final scores: England 185 and 68, Australia 267. Australia won by an innings and 14 runs with two days to spare.

The 4th Test is scheduled for 5th to 9th January at Sydney.
