Prime Minister and Minister of National Security Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said that he is pleased to see that Canada has committed 6.6 million dollar to tackle illegal arms trafficking in Haiti and the wider Caribbean.
Speaking at this morning’s media briefing Prime Minister Gonsalves noted however that the bulk of the funds will go toward Haiti.
The Prime Minister noted that they are working along with the United States to control the flow of arms coming from there.
Canada made the commitment during the recently concluded Canada-CARICOM summit held in Ottawa, Canada.
