Ralph Gonsalves

The government has won its appeal in the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal regarding the judgment made in the High Court of St Vincent and Grenadines, relative to its Covid 19 vaccine mandate.

The judgement made my Judge Esco Henry had initially ruled that the decision made by the government to mandate the vaccine, was unconstitutional.

In an interview with NBC News Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves says that a nuanced decision was taken by the government during the pandemic in order to save lives.

The Prime Minister reiterates that any public servant who was dismissed during that period can return to the workforce and all job benefits will be reinstated.

Prime Minister Gonsalves encourages persons to return to work, even as they have declared the willingness to appeal the case to the Privy Council.

The Prime Minister says despite the ruling being in the governments favor, this is not a time to gloat, but rather a time for reconciliation.
