The National Insurance Services (NIS) has increased the level of benefits to its members for a number of the services which it currently offers.
Executive Director of the NIS, Reginald Thomas said a number of recommendations were outlined during the 2013 National Budget enacting parametric reform to ensure greater sustainability of the Social Security Protection services.
He said these reform measures which took effect on January 2014 included Pension increases which were already paid.
Mr. Thomas said other services which have been identified for an increase in the level of benefits include Maternity Grant, Funeral Grant and a number of others.
He said to ensure that this program is balanced; the contribution rate was also increased from January 1st, 2014.
