
Efforts to grow this country’s market share within the Agricultural sector are underway the Ministry of agriculture host its first marketing workshop today.
Speaking to NBC News, Colville King, Agricultural Officer within the Agricultural Planning Unit, said for years farmers has been indicating that marketing is a major constraint to production.
He they have recognized that unlike banana, where there is an organized system and a quantify demand farmers are not confident in producing adequate confident in producing other commodities.
Mr. King said the workshop aims at tackling these issues.
Mr. King said while his unit act as a facilitator rather than a consultant, they are hoping to address, several marketing issues in terms of the growth of market share locally and regionally, through the Banana Accompanying Measures Project (BAM).
