The 5th in a series of Town Hall Meetings organized by the International Airport Development Company (IADC) as part of its public outreach programme, will take place in Bequia next week.

The sessions are being held to prepare persons for the start of operations of the International Airport at Argyle.

A release from the IADC says the upcoming meeting will take place at the Bequia Community High School, on Thursday May 8th from 6pm.

The presenters will include Communications Officer at the IADC, Jennifer Richardson-Herbert who will update residents on the progress of construction and investment opportunities in and around the airport.

Jay Belmar from the Ministry of Tourism will look at the impact of the airport on tourism, while Andrew Mitchell will focus on the development of sailing and how this sector can benefit from the international airport.

A representative of the Fisheries Division in the Ministry of Agriculture will look at the impact that the international airport is likely to have on this sector.

The presentations will be followed by questions and general discussion. Four other Town Hall Meetings have already been held in Kingstown, Stubbs, Sandy Bay and Troumaca.
