The Ministry of Social Development says it is continuing work on its extensive implementation program for the Juvenile Justice Reform Programme.

This statement was made by Gender Affairs Coordinator, Polly Olliver during yesterday’s opening of a two-day training workshop which occurred as part of a thrust to develop a Court Based Diversion Program Strategy for the Juvenile Justice Reform Programme.

Mrs. Olliver said through the program St. Vincent and the Grenadines is modernizing its entire approach towards dealing with youths who come into contact with the law.

She highlighted that Consultant Jacqueline Sealey-Burke who has been contracted by the OECS has developed the strategy following a number of National Consultations.

Mrs. Olliver also outlined what they are hoping to achieve through the Court Based Diversion Program Strategy.
