Chief Executive Officer of the St. Vincent Electricity Service (VINLEC) Thornely Myers calls for VINLEC’s Employees to be conscious of their responsibility.

Addressing persons present at the official launching of the company’s Environmental Health and Safety Awareness month, Mr. Myers said that the company place much emphasis on the issue of the environment. And, they are aware of the processes involved in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity and its potential to seriously impact the environment.

VINLEC’s CEO said, with this in mind it is their responsibility to do everything possible to eliminate negative environmental impact. He said occupational safety continues to be at the forefront of the company for its employees.

Mr. Myers said that while occupational safety is being recognized, work place diseases also need to be taken into consideration.
