Vincentians are being urged to be mindful of the high costs associated with the management and disposal of waste in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The call was made by Collections Superintendent at the Solid Waste Management Unit in the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA), Greg Francois.
Mr. Francois said despite the regular collection services provided by the CWSA, persons continue to conduct illegal dumping activities, which places additional burden on the already limited financial resources.
Mr. Francois also mentioned that the cost of maintaining a litter-free environment could eventually trickle down to the consumer, through increased collections charges.
