Investigations are continuing into the death of an elderly woman of Bequia who reportedly drowned while swimming at the Beach in Hamilton on Christmas Day.
Police say 67-year-old Greta Farrell, who is mute, went to the beach for her regular swim at about 11am on Thursday.
A few minutes later she was seen floating in the water. She was taken to the Port Elizabeth Clinic where she was pronounced dead.
The body was transported to mainland St. Vincent by the Coast Guard, where a postmortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
