Minister of Agriculture, Saboto Ceasar, said they intend to produce five hundred acres worth of Banana Plantlets for 2015.
He gave this assurance during his contribution to the debate on the 2015 National Budget in Parliament yesterday.
Minister Ceasar said they will be maximizing the production of these plantlets at the Tissue Culture Lab, as the government continues its efforts to boost agricultural production in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He said many farmers have made applications for Banana plants and they will be fully utilizing the services at the Tissue Culture Lab to ensure that they can respond to the needs of these farmers.
