The search is over for the body of Garth Pompey, a resident of Chilli Village in Georgetown, following an incident which occurred at Black Point on Friday.
Reports indicate that Pompey was fishing on Jasper Rock, when his line became entangled. As he sought to detangle the line it’s reported that he was swept off the rock and into the sea.
Coast Guard officials are reported to have been diving in the area, to try and recover his body, but were unsuccessful.
Pompey’s body was found on a beach at Colonarie this morning.
