Minister of Labour Maxwell Charles says the Department of Labour is making progress with the development of the Occupational Safety and Health Bill for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Minister Charles was speaking at the Culmination of a Walk and Rally which was held on Friday by the National Labour Congress as part of activities to commemorate International Workers Day, also referred to as Labour Day.
Minister Charles said as the country continues to develop, the Occupational Safety and Health Bill will become an important guide for working relations.
Minister Charles said they Ministry is also ensuring that employers and employees are given an opportunity to voice their opinion on the legislation.
The Labour Day Walk and rally was held under the theme “workers safety guarantees productivity and prosperity.”
