Students who are desirous of pursuing University studies outside of the priority areas will not be eligible to benefit from the Government’s Economically Disadvantaged Student loan Program.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said that the deadline for applications to the Student Loan Company has been extended from June 30th to mid-July.
He told Reporters that this is necessary since the University of the West Indies had extended its admission deadline.
It is important he said that students applying for loans first check the priority areas of study.
He said the Government will have to find some five million dollars for new and continuing students for the new Academic year.
