Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has defended the governments’ decision to purchase construction materials from the Jamaica-based Tank-Weld Group.
He spoke on the issue at a ceremony in Barrouallie last week, to present with offer letters to 162 residents of the constituency for the lands on which they reside.
Dr. Gonsalves said the company provides the government with financing terms which cannot be matched locally.
Dr. Gonsalves said the material is crucial to the government’s ongoing development agenda.
