CARICOM Youth Ambassador, Chelcia Ferdinand, has appealed to the nation to be more supportive of persons living with HIV/AIDS.
Miss Ferdinand made the appeal earlier this month, as she addressed the audience at a rally in commemoration of World AIDS Day.
She urged people to find creative ways of joining the “Getting to Zero” campaign, instead of engaging in discriminatory actions against persons living with HIV/AIDS.
Meanwhile, a representative of the Georgetown Health District said early detection and treatment is one of the best ways a HIV positive patient can maintain a long life.
