Local CARICOM Youth Ambassador, Chelsea Ferdinand has made a call to the youth of this country to seek information on their reproductive health or to abstain from sexual contact until they can make more informed decisions.
Miss Ferdinand was speaking at the World AIDS Day Rally held on Friday at Heritage Square. She said Vincentians should not allow the progress made in tackling this issue, to be undermined by people who continue to discriminate against persons living with HIV/AIDS.
Miss Ferdinand added that getting tested regularly is important, because being unaware of your status can be dangerous. And she urged young persons to get involved in the ongoing campaign to reduce the spread of the disease.
