A fair at the Belmont Government School ended abruptly yesterday, after a stabbing incident which resulted in the death of a Police Officer.
Dead is Constable 602 Giovanni Charles, who was attached to the Rapid Response Unit, and was providing security for the event, when he was stabbed.
Police have confirmed that 18-year-old Maverick Joseph is in custody assisting them with investigations into the incident .
The Police Officer’s death brings to eleven, the number of homicides in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for this year.
