SVG’s Increase In Tourist Arrivals

96,680 tourists visited SVG for the first quarter of 2016, representing a significant increase for the country’s tourism industry.

For the first quarter, the country enjoyed a 6.8% increase in total visitors when compared to last year’s figures in the same period.

According to statistics from the Minister of Tourism and Culture, the first semester of 2016 continues to show a positive trend with 17,228 international visitors, which represents a 4.9 percent increase from last year.

February and March were the months with the largest number of arrivals.

The United Kingdom is the second largest market for tourist arrivals after the USA.

Cecil Mckie the Minister of Tourism and Culture said his ministry is very pleased with the figures for the first quarter of this year.
