Free Textbooks For Children On The Adopt A Classroom Initiative

Local Government has purchased textbooks at a cost of one hundred and seventy dollars for each child under the ‘Adopt A Classroom Initiative’ which forms part of the Zero Hunger Fund Initiative.

This was revealed by Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, during the recent launch of the Initiative.

The Prime Minister said they have also made cash payments of two hundred and eighty dollars available to parents to assist in the purchase of other school supplies.

He said the entire cost of the Adopt A Classroom Initiative for the first year will cost the Government one hundred and sixty thousand, seven hundred dollars.
