Two Titles were decided at the weekend in the Vita Malt Bequia Basketball Championships at the Hard Court of the Clive Tannis Playing Field.

Southern Stars clinched the Second Division Title after beating Young Duke 56-44 to go up 2-0 in the best of 3 Finals.

Camal Bess led the scoring for Southern Stars with 24 points, 29 rebounds and 6 steals.

The leading scorer for Young Duke was Jermaine John with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 7 steals and 1 block.

Wizards defeated East Blazers 78-68 in game 4 of the best of 5 finals for a 3-1 winning lead which gave them the First Division Championship.

Dareo Glasgow led the scoring for Wizards with 19 points, 22 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals and 1 block.

For East Blazers, Elton Joseph had 18 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 block.

This year’s Slam Dunk Competition of the Vita Malt Bequia Basketball Championship scheduled for last weekend was cancelled because of insufficient entries.
