BLACK SIGATOKA DISEASE TO BE TACKLED THIS WEEKEND

Minister of Agriculture, Saboto Caesar says the Banana Rehabilitation program will continue this weekend since due to the current climatic conditions they have seen an increase in the levels of the Black Sigatoka Disease.

He said they currently have the disease under control and they currently have three spraying teams in the field addressing this issue across the country.

Minister Caesar said the Aerial Spraying cycles will resume from this Saturday as they continue their work to ensure that the Black Sigatoka
Disease is kept under control.

He said a team is also going around the country assisting farmers with the cutback and pruning of damaged plants.
