A Work Plan has been formulated by the Ministry of Agriculture and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Beekeepers Association, on the way forward for the local Apiculture or Bee-Keeping Industry.
Bee Keeping Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture, Allan Williams told NBC News one of the major areas of concern is developing the capacity to produce enough honey to meet the local demand.
Mr. Williams said the Ministry and the Association discussed a programme to establish one thousand five hundred Bee Hives across the country over the next three years, to address the issue of local demand.
