A local organization has extended support to some students who would be pursuing studies at the St. Vincent And The Grenadines Community- College.

Thirty-three students yesterday received Bursaries valued at five hundred dollars each, from the Organization Generation Next, which operates in North Leeward.

The bursary distribution ceremony was held as part of the organisation’s Access to College Education Program.

Delivering remarks at the event, Executive Member of Generation Next Jodie Marshall said the organization hosted a cocktail during the month of August to raise the funds for the students. Miss Marshall said Generation Next is continuing to provide various levels of support for young persons.

Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Senator Deborah Charles commended Generation Next for the initiative and she re-stated the Government’s commitment to the educational advancement of the nation’s children.

Meanwhile Founder of Generation Next, Senator Carlos James said there is a bright future ahead for St. Vincent and the Grenadines, once opportunities for educational advancement are provided for the young people.

He said he is committed to the task of assisting the nation’s youths as they continue to strive to achieve their goals.
