HEALTH-CORONA VIRUS

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment has reiterated that  travel to and from China is being discouraged, in light of the recent outbreak of the coronavirus.

The Director General of the World Health Organization has declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.

The Ministry also reminded the public that anyone who arrives in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, after having been in China within 14 days prior to arrival, will be quarantined for 2 weeks. The Ministry appealed for the co-operation of the public.

The first activation of the quarantine as an infection control practice was effected on Friday, February 7, and since that date the Ministry has continued to apply it as necessary and required.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment said it is serious about working with stakeholders to protect and promote the health of citizens and the nation.
