The 5th and final Test between England and India which was to have started this morning at Old Trafford, Manchester, England has been cancelled.
A statement released earlier this morning from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said: “Following ongoing conversations with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the ECB can confirm that the 5th Test between England and India due to start today has been cancelled due to fears of a further increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the camp, India are regrettably unable to field a team.
We send our sincere apologies to fans and partners for this news, which we know will cause immense disappointment and inconvenience to many.”
It means that the series will finish at 2-2.
