Southern Grenadines Schools set to reopen next week after Hurricane Beryl

Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said schools in the Southern Grenadines are expected to reopen by next week, following the passage of Hurricane Beryl about eight weeks ago.

 

He made this statement during an interview with NBC News yesterday afternoon, following his trip to the Grenadines to assess the reconstruction efforts.

 

Prime Minister Gonsalves said the Canouan Primary and Secondary Schools are expected to reopen on Monday, while the Mayreau Primary School will reopen later next week.

Prime Minister Gonsalves said for Union Island, classes for the two Primary Schools and the Secondary School will reopen on mainland St. Vincent for the majority of students, on Monday.

 

He said the Union Island Secondary School will also be opened from Monday, to host classes for the few students from all three schools, who remain on the Grenadine Island.
