Deputy Hospital Administrator at the Modern Medical and Diagnostic Center, Idinger Miller-Walker, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing free dialysis treatment to Vincentians, a service that has been saving lives for the past three years.
The affirmation from Miller Walker comes in the aftermath of the observance of World Kidney Day on March 13th.
Speaking to NBC News, Miller Walker explained that the decision to eliminate dialysis fees was made to ensure that all patients have access to the treatment they need, to survive.
Miller-Walker said before this initiative, many Vincentians struggled to afford dialysis and were forced to travel abroad for care.
Sixty four (64) patients presently receive dialysis treatment at the facility.
