
Esteemed legal counsel Stanley Kendrick John, King’s Council, will be sworn in as this country’s new Governor General tomorrow.
John served as a Government Senator in the House of Assembly in 1983 and as an Opposition Senator from 1984 to 1989. He was elected as the Parliamentary Representative in the House of Assembly for the constituency of East St George in 1998.He served at various times as Editor of The Star newspaper and as Public Relations Officer of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Labour Party (SVGLP) and from 1992 to 1994 as the Political Leader of that Party.
Mr. John was appointed Queens Counsel within the jurisdiction of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in February of 2014.
The Ceremony will take place at Government House at 9:00 am and NBC Radio will bring live coverage.
