
The Community Nursing Services Department in the Ministry of Health is finalizing plans for a week of activities to recognize World Diabetes Day, which is observed annually on November 14th annually.
The activities will be held under the theme: Diabetes Education Prevention with the slogan: Diabetes Protect our future.
Senior Nursing Officer, Sister Ferosa Lewis-Roache said two main groups will be targeted: persons living with the disease and students.
Sister Lewis-Roache said the week of activities will begin with a Church Service on Sunday November 10th, as well as a radio message from Minister of Health Clayton Burgin.
She said throughout the week there will be open days at health centers and daily Health Word programmes on Diabetes Issues.
