Minister of Foreign Affairs, Camillo Gonsalves has warned that Climate change will continue to have a significant impact on the economy of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the years ahead.
Minister Gonsalves issued the warning as he contributed to debate on Supplementary Estimates for 2014, presented in the House of Assembly yesterday.
The Supplementary Estimates, which amount to 83-million 980-thousand, 800 dollars, were tabled by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves to provide additional expenditure relating to the floods of December 2013.
The Minister of Foreign affairs noted that severe weather events are becoming an annual feature in island states such as St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
