Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves will host a News Conference today to discuss the heavy rainfall which occurred on Saturday, and plans to rehabilitate the areas affected.
Today’s News Conference will take place at Cabinet Room from one-thirty this afternoon, and will be broadcast live on NBC Radio.
The torrential rains caused damage to houses and infrastructure here, and resulted in a number of landslides and flash floods in several communities.
The Prime Minister said all the relevant agencies were activated following the heavy rain.
And, the Buildings, Roads and General Services Authority BRAGSA mobilized crews to carry out the clean-up exercise, and to effect repair to infrastructure.
The National Emergency Management Organisation, NEMO says over ten areas across St. Vincent were affected as a result of the Torrential rains.
It said the major affected areas are; Buccament Bay, Kingstown, Largo Height, Dorsetshire Hill, La Croix, Rose Place, Belair, Belmont/Fair Hall, E. T. Joshua Airport, Arnos Vale and Trigger Ridge.
