Legislation is now in place to authorize the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to borrow monies, to assist with the financing of a contract relating to the International Airport Project at Argyle.
The Economic Diversification Loan Authorization (No.2) Bill was one of three Bills passed on Monday September 21st 2015, but without the support of the Opposition (The New Democratic Party).
In presenting the measure, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves explained that the seven year loan is from the Export Credit Guarantee Department of the United Kingdom Government.
The other bills passed were the Eastern Caribbean Asset Management Corporation Bill, and the Foreign Account Tax Compliant Bill.
Parliament has been adjourned until Monday October 19th 2015.
